Who I Am

A Veteran's Voice in a Confusing Industry

I'm Peter Johal — an entrepreneur, financial educator, public speaker, mentor, and trainer. For 24 years, I've worked in the Financial Services Industry, building plans for families, leading and growing teams, and teaching what most people were never taught in school: how money actually works.

I've sat across the table from thousands of Canadians — newcomers, young families, business owners, retirees. The conversation almost always starts the same way: "I wish someone had explained this to me sooner." That sentence is why this site exists.

My job, as I see it, is simple. Replace confusion with clarity. Replace fear with a plan. And help good people make confident decisions about their money — for themselves and the generations that come after them.

The Journey

24 Years, Built One Conversation at a Time

The milestones that shaped how I work today — and the people who shaped me along the way.

2002

Started With WFG

Joined World Financial Group as a brand-new associate. No book of business, no network — just a belief that families deserved straight answers about their money.

2008+

Building Team Evolution

Began building my own team — Team Evolution. Focus from day one: train associates to teach, not sell. Help families understand their plan before they sign anything.

Mission 2000 / Mission 400

Scaling the Mission

Set deliberate growth targets — not for the awards, but to expand reach. Each new licensed associate meant more families across Canada and the US getting access to real financial education.

Today

Cross-Border Leadership

Today, Team Evolution operates across Canada and the US. I split my time between client work, mentoring leaders, speaking engagements, and creating financial literacy content for everyday people.

Philosophy

Most Canadians Are Never Taught How Money Works

That gap costs families their futures. It costs people their retirement, their peace of mind, and the wealth they could have built.

I believe the financial services industry should be a teaching profession first and a sales profession second. When people understand insurance, investing, debt, and retirement, the right decisions become obvious. That's the entire point of financial literacy — not memorizing products, but understanding the mechanics.

Everything I publish on this site comes from that belief. No pressure. No upsell. Just real education from someone who's been in the trenches for nearly a quarter-century.

What I Do

Two Roles, One Mission

For Families

I work with Canadian families on life insurance, investment strategies through licensed mutual fund services, retirement-savings strategies, and estate-protection conversations. Every conversation starts with a proper needs analysis — not a product pitch.

For Future Advisors

I mentor and train the next generation of financial professionals. Recruiting, licensing, technical training, and leadership development — building people who teach, not sell.

Credentials & Regulators

Licensed, Regulated, and Cross-Border

I'm personally licensed in both life insurance and mutual funds, and I work alongside a team of licensed associates across most provinces in Canada and most states in the U.S.

Personally Licensed

Life insurance — licensed agent in [PROVINCE], regulated by the [Insurance Council of British Columbia / applicable provincial insurance council].

Mutual funds — registered as a Dealing Representative through WFG Securities Inc., a member of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) and the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF).

License numbers and registration details available on request — get in touch.

Cross-Border Reach

Through Team Evolution, families and business owners can be connected with licensed associates in most provinces across Canada and most states across the U.S.

That matters because a Canadian-licensed agent can't legally advise an American resident, and vice versa. Our cross-border footprint means there's almost always a properly-licensed associate in your jurisdiction — so you get help from someone authorized to give it.

Personal

Beyond the Office

I'm a husband, a father, and a member of a community I care deeply about. Much of my work — especially within the South Asian community — comes from the simple fact that I grew up around the same conversations and confusions about money that I now help families work through. When I talk about financial literacy, it's personal.
